This American campervan has a flamethrower mounted inside a cattle skull

Chevrolet Campervan with Longhorn Skull Flamethrower

Based on a 1968 Chevrolet C20 Longhorn, this pickup truck has been fitted with an unmissable Franklin 11FK6 camper in the bed of the truck.

However, what truly makes this charming camper unique is what’s mounted on the front of it.

Let’s cut to the chase – it’s the skull of a Texas Longhorn with a flamethrower mounted inside.

Is that not the most unexpectedly badass thing you’ve seen on the front of a campervan?

Specifically, a liquid propane torch is what provides the flames, while a CO2 sprayer provides smoke that’s emitted from the skull’s nostrils.

Accompanied by the mechanical animation of the skull bucking up and down, plus some lights in the eyes, it’s a hilarious yet intimidating addition to the front of an otherwise unassuming camper.

Not only does it shoot flames up front, but the Chevy’s dual-exit exhaust system has been plumbed with propane torches to help it shoot flames out the back as well.

Of course, the propane system also runs the stove in the camper itself, with the truck and camper add-on both being refurbished by the seller in 2011 when it was stripped right back to the chassis.

Powered by a 396ci V8 with a four-speed manual gearbox, the vehicle – located in Iowa, USA – has also been upgraded with an additional rear “cheetah” axle, six-inch chassis extension, and rear air suspension.

So where can I buy it?

At the time of writing, just over three days is remaining on the Bring a Trailer auction listing, with bids currently sitting at just under US$35k.
