The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X has just upped the ante even further than before.
For those of you who don’t know, the Corvette ZR1 is an extremely impressive supercar.
It is widely considered to be a vast improvement for the American supercar as a whole.
In fact, most look at it as a more-than-worthy contender to Europe’s finest.
But now, its big brother has just made some history of its own.
Enter the Corvette ZR1X – the All Wheel-Drive (AWD) hybrid sibling.
The car has enabled Chevy to make a startling announcement.

In its newest YouTube video, the brand has confirmed that the ZR1X now holds an incredible record.
It’s now officially the quickest American production car available.
The ZR1X is also, according to Chevy:
“The fastest way to get down a quarter-mile drag strip for under a million dollars.”
Just to clarify, the Corvette ZR1X will set you back $209,700.
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X outperforms hypercar rivals
So what numbers has the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X actually managed to achieve?
The supercar took to the US 131 Motorsports Park last October.
And it completed the quarter-mile in just 8.675 seconds.
It also completed the run with an exit speed of 159mph.
But there is something else that makes this record even more impressive.
Chevrolet claims the feat was achieved on street-legal Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.
The setup also used engine calibration that’s street legal in all 50 US states.

But the best part of it all?
The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X accelerated from 0-60 in just 1.86 seconds.
Chevrolet’s time is even more mind-blowing when you consider the cost.
Yes, $209,000 is still a lot of money.
But that performance exceeds that of rivals that cost more than ten times as much.
Consider us extremely impressed.
