The 2,000hp Corvette CX is a Chevy concept that pushes Corvette design into new territory and shows how Chevrolet is thinking about the future of its sports car.

The CX and its racing version, the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo, were shown at Monterey Car Week.

Both feature experimental powertrains and aggressive styling with clear links to past Corvette models.

Together, they outline how Corvette could evolve in design and performance in the years ahead.

2,000hp Corvette CX revealed

The Corvette CX carries familiar design traits but with sharper lines and more dramatic proportions.

The nose, tail lights, and side profile are recognizable, but the roof sits extremely low, and the canopy design gives it a very different look on the road.

This Chevy concept was shaped with input from Chevrolet’s motorsports division, including aerodynamic features such as built-in fans and adjustable diffusers.

These details are intended to improve grip and stability at speed, marking an experimental phase in Corvette design.

The drivetrain is fully electric. Four motors, one at each wheel, combine for more than 2,000hp.

A battery mounted in the chassis lowers the center of gravity and spreads the weight more evenly across the car.

This setup gives the 2,000hp Corvette both extreme acceleration and more precise handling than a traditional rear-drive model.

Inside, the CX has a digital display that stretches across the windshield to show speed and performance data.

The cabin uses carbon fiber and aluminum throughout, with seats finished in red materials designed to hold occupants in place during hard cornering.

Controls are concentrated on the steering wheel, and the canopy-style roof opens automatically as the driver approaches.

It is a vision of Corvette design that blends digital technology with physical performance.

Corvette CX.R takes it to the track

The CX.R Vision Gran Turismo takes the same basic structure and adapts it for racing.

It wears the yellow and black colors linked to Corvette’s endurance race cars, with more dramatic wings and a lower stance.

This Chevy concept strips back the interior to save weight, while the seating is reinforced to cope with the demands of professional racing.

The move from road to track shows another path for Corvette design, one rooted in motorsport.

Unlike the all-electric CX, the CX.R uses a mix of combustion and electric power.

A twin-turbo 2.0-liter V8 sits behind the driver, producing up to 900hp and revving to 15,000rpm.

Three electric motors add extra power and bring the combined output to 2,000hp.

An eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox delivers that power to the wheels, and the V8 runs on renewable fuel.

Chevrolet confirmed that both the Corvette CX and the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo will appear in Gran Turismo 7.

Players will be able to drive these Chevy concepts virtually, testing the design and performance ideas that may shape future Corvettes.

The 2,000hp Corvette concepts are not production cars, but they show how Corvette design could change as Chevrolet experiments with electrification, racing influence, and new forms of performance.
