The Chevy Corvette is famed worldwide for its pure need for speed with admiration felt far and wide – even royalty have snapped up supercars based on the powerhouse chassis including the King of Morocco.

The revolutionary supercars are so powerful that the 2025 edition of the ZR1 is quicker than A Lamborghini or McLaren to reach 0-60 mph.

Impressive right?

Well, just wait until you see this replica Chevy race car and its unusual yet mighty engine.

The original race car needs no introduction

Bursting onto the scene in the 1960s, 125 Corvette race cars were released with the aim to win the GT class race at the prestigious LeMans race in France.

And, the mean, lean machines from the famed carmaker are instantly recognizable – but what happens when the basis of the beast remains but other specs and features are modified to host 21st Century expectations?

Enter this bad boy.

Speed and drive completely reimagined

If the sleek, shiny azure blue exterior was not enough to convince you that the racer means business – perhaps the machine lying low under the hood will.

Forget simple auto engines – this Corvette Grand Sport Mercury SB4 427 runs on a boat motor.

Yep, a motor built for a boat.

It houses a Mercury SB4 V8 with 750 horsepower.

This creator gave viewers a guided tour of the engine with help from the creator- Superformance – and it’s safe to say the outcome was impressive.

“It’s a boat motor converted to street application,” they said in the YouTube video.

“It’s all built off of the original tooling.”

The Chevy Corvette sure did impress

The creator who was test-driving the beast quipped ‘these auto meter gages look wonderful’.

And, just wait till you hear the roar from the engine too.

“It’s giving me butterflies,” they said of the sound.

“Time to stop floating and go boating.”
