This man became the proud owner of two trucks far away from home – 1,200 miles to be exact.
The aim was to drive them back to Chicago, but it didn’t quite go to plan.
After purchasing a Typhoon, the idea was to use a Ford Super Duty F350 to get the wheels back in one piece.
Let’s just say, it wasn’t the smoothest ride.

The passion project of fixing a truck up comes into every man’s life one way or another, so it’s no surprise that buying a cheap truck is all the rage right now.
From Fords to Dodge trucks – the opportunities are endless.
For example, this guy had that very idea when got a call to a Ford truck nobody else would rescue and quickly found out why.
Having said that, did you know that there’s only one manual pickup truck in the US in 2025? Crazy right!
Back to the truck – because with every passion purchase, there’s always a risk of disaster, as this guy was about to find out.
He bought the trucks with the plan to drive home
On the Legit Street Cars YouTube channel, this creator purchased these autos with the plan to get back to Chicago.
Let’s just note that it’s not his first rodeo when it comes to this kind of thing – he previously purchased a Chevrolet Silverado.
This time, though, he treated himself to a Ford Super Duty F350 and a GMC Typhoon – sounds simple enough right?
Well, think again – and brace yourself for a wild ride.
The Ford didn’t fancy a trip at the hands of the creator.

On the attempt to get those vehicles back to the Windy city in working order, many a problem occurred.
The recent Super Duty is actually raved about online.
It’s even been described as ‘surprisingly efficient’ – only that didn’t quite ring true in this instance with an older model.
You see, the diesel truck experienced mechanical issues – which meant that the drive back barely started.
The creator was fearful he’d end up stranded – cue the eerie silence.
It was clear things weren’t going to plan.
Ultimately, the truck was towed to a shop – nowhere near Chicago.

After the shop said that they couldn’t work on it, the creator tried to buy another truck to tow the Typhoon home.
Only, that was no use, either.
After exhausting every avenue, the creator put a post up on his social media platforms explaining that he was stranded and eventually got some help from a U-Haul employee.
Thanks to the hire truck, he was finally able to tow his Typhoon home – what a mess, eh?
Watch all the action unfold below.
We’d suggest grabbing some popcorn, though, because boy, oh boy, was that drive back eventful.
