China is already ahead of the curve when it comes to travel, but this invention of the maglev train sets the country in even better stead.
The maglev train is set to make rail journeys similar to hopping on a flight.
The train has a high cruising speed whilst still remaining environmentally sustainable.
But it’s not the only impressive train in action across the world.

China’s new maglev train will make journeys almost as fast as flying
When it comes to travelling, many passengers like to get to their destinations quickly and efficiently.
However, this isn’t always possible with different forms of transport.
For instance, we all know that flying somewhere will take less time than embarking on a drive or hopping on a train.
But now, thanks to China’s maglev train, that could all change.
The special trains called maglev (magnetic levitation) have brought a whole new meaning to fast travel.
But, how do they work?

Well, the train actually utilizes electromagnets to hold itself above the rails, allowing the train to carry on at reduced noise levels, along with no friction.
The trains will be able to carry lots of passengers at high speeds whilst being sustainable too.
“The highest operation speed of high-speed train can reach 350 km/h, and cruising speed of aircraft is from 800 to 900 km/h,” CRRC stated in 2019
“The high-speed maglev train with a speed of 600 km/h will fill in the speed gap between the high-speed train and airplane.”

The trains could make travel times shorter and even cut journeys by hours.
Plus, if that wasn’t enough, railway researchers have even claimed to have ‘slashed’ the shock waves that occur when the train bursts out of a tunnel at 370mph per hour, too.
Trains across the world all look different
From London’s tube system to New York’s subway, train systems in all areas of the globe look different.
Some are high speed, but some prefer a slower operating speed.
For example, there is a super-luxury scenic steam train that transports you right back to the roaring 20s in Britain.
Plus, we can’t forget the time that a brave man attempted to break the world record with the world’s fastest LEGO train.
Would you jump on a maglev train if you had the chance?
