Chinese humanoid robot Walker S2 has become a powerhouse on the court, smashing aces with perfect strokes in a live tennis match against a human.
Hot off the back of the Battle of the Sexes in tennis, involving a grudge exhibition match between Nick Kyrgios and Aryna Sabalenka, a new challenger has approached.
The Walker S2 humanoid has entered Robo Nadal territory in a new video posted by its creator UBTECH.
Taking to the court, the Chinese humanoid is performing serve returns that even Rafa would be proud of.

Chinese humanoid has mastered Tennis by performing perfect strokes
The world of robotics has been seriously heating up throughout 2025, as evidenced by the wild improvement in the Tesla Optimus movements showcased in December.
But as some are still flexing their muscles, others are cracking on learning new techniques and activities, such as UBTECH’s Walker S2.
This Chinese humanoid has become a master at tennis, dominating the court and performing perfect strokes against a human.
Showcased on YouTube, the Walker S2 fired all kinds of shots, from backhands to lobs, in one of the finest displays of precision the courts have seen.

UBTECH has already rolled the Walker S2 into 500 homes and workplaces around China and has another 500 prototypes at the ready; this tennis-crazed robot is one of 1,000.
“Vision is not just seeing. It’s reading the future’s trajectory. Precision is not just control. It’s graceful balance through every impact.
“On this New Year’s Day, we open a new chapter with a human-robot tennis rally. Witness the powerful and precise strokes of Walker S2,” the company said.
They’ve walked among us, now they play among us
This isn’t the first robot to take up sports and prove its worth as a valid athlete.
While this Chinese humanoid still has some way to go before it goes racket-to-racket against Carlos Alcaraz, another of its compatriots has mastered the art of running and can marathon with unlimited stamina – or until its battery dies.
Another Chinese company has also showcased MLS-style skill with a five-a-side robot soccer team. Again, it’s more of a Subeteo skill level, but with some WD40 to loosen the stiffness, it could improve remarkably quickly.
However, it’s clear to see that this tennis star is the best robot athlete we’ve seen yet.

So, put down the keys to the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, Nick Kyrigos, you’ve got some training to do before your next superstar exhibition match.
