Christian Bale made a fortune playing Batman in The Dark Knight trilogy.
And that’s on top of so many roles that got him awards and a bank account full of zeros.
And yet, he drives a surprisingly modest vehicle.

As it turns out, the 50-year-old English actor drives a 2003 Toyota Tacoma.
And despite his $120+ million net worth, he wouldn’t let it go for the world.
Even though his obsession with his Tacoma pick-up truck may be new to some of his fans, it is a well-known fact in Hollywood.
In an interview for the press tour for the film Ford V Ferrari, in which Bale plays race car driver Ken Miles, Bale and his co-star, Matt Damon ,addressed Bale’s love for the Tacoma.
“I guess [I think] it’s surprising because people have this idea that Hollywood stars drive the nicest cars,” the interviewer said.
“What are you saying, the Tacoma is not the nicest car?” Christian Bale joked.
And when the interviewer says it’s a 2006 truck, Bale promptly ‘corrects’ her.
“2003, thank you very much. And second hand!” he said.
Even Joe Rogan and fellow Hollywood actor, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, are familiar with Bale’s unusual choice.
Rogan and Johnson spoke about Bale’s Tacoma in an episode of the Joe Rogan podcast.
“[Christian Bale] doesn’t care. He’s not interested in material possessions. [And] it’s a bulletproof car, they never break. You get a a Toyota, they go forever,” Joe Rogan told the Rock.
As crazy as it may seem, Christian Bale is certainly not the only wealthy public figure that doesn’t drive a flashy car.
Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, for example, could literally buy a brand new Bugatti Chiron every day for the next 100 years and still be rich, and yet, he’s often spotted driving a Honda Fit.
And the same goes for billionaire investor, Warren Buffett.
He’s the sixth richest person on Earth with a net worth of $130 billion, and yet he drives a 10-year-old sedan.
Imagine that.
