One of the coolest Ford Mustang concepts to ever be made has just been created, but this Boss 302 revival heartbreakingly only exists in virtual reality.
Some of the coolest cars ever only exist inside games – we’re still waiting on the day Microsoft lets everyone in on the wizardry behind the Warthog, and let’s not get started on how the nitro works for Rocket League’s Octane.
But in more realistic games, where real-life cars are customized, a few genius minds have tuned magnificent creations that would undoubtedly be hit sensations outside of the computer.
So much so that this custom Mustang has blown anything that Ford itself has made in the last 50 years out of the water.

This is the Ford Mustang Boss 302. Well, kind of.
The original Boss 302 launched way back in 1969 and was arguably one of Ford’s best Mustang designs to date.
Since then, Ford has taken a very different approach to the development of the Mustang, and the seventh-generation S650 could well be the last of its kind to be produced with a combustion engine.
But as a staple American muscle car, people have often drawn up their own designs. And thanks to a bit of playing about on a 3D engine, creator altraconcept has reimagined the Ford Mustang Boss 302.

Strictly speaking, this virtual reality blend isn’t a game – it’s certainly not like taking a trip to Los Santos Customs -rather, it involves high-quality manufacturing knowledge to piece together concept cars from scratch.
But that doesn’t take anything away from the beautiful design of this Ford Mustang Boss 302.
With an exposed V8 engine as the showpiece, the ‘unapologetic’ look includes a stupidly aggressive yet gorgeous front bumper as the aggressive kit reaches around to the iconic taillight design.
The concept was given a run through cgibackgrounds for a track photoshoot, where it was stunning.
“We wanted this build to feel personal, like it has its own character, much like the Mustangs we’ve seen in films – more than just a car, but a true part of the story,” said altraconcept on Instagram.

The Ford Mustang is quite a popular choice when it comes to using video game technology as a catalyst for design concepts and performance-enhancing engineering tips.
Even Ford itself runs sims with a Forza-like element to it.
Just two weeks ago, Ford ran the Mustang GTD around the Nürburgring – only they did it from the comfort of American soil and used ghost car telemetry to pit it against its rivals.
With the Ford Mustang GTD hoping to wave the flag for this esteemed series in the years to come, here’s hoping the company has one eye on social media to bring some one-off designs to life.
