Cristiano Ronaldo Jacob & Co watch

Cristiano Ronaldo has just revealed a new $124,000 watch he designed in partnership with Jacob & Co.

The timepiece depicts Ronaldo on one side and his logo and signature on the other.

But one detail has some eagle-eyed Manchester United fans asking questions.

The watch face depicts the then Real Madrid striker scoring a goal against Manchester United during the 2013 Champions League campaign.

It’s an interesting choice considering the 37-year-old still was still playing for the English Premier League club when he designed the timepiece.

His fans weren’t too happy about his choice of imagery, with some taking to Twitter to call him out.

“He really hates Man Utd,” one said, while another said “that’s really poor from him”.

When he revealed the watch to his now 500 million Instagram followers, Ronaldo didn’t comment on the imagery.

“I’m excited to announce my partnership with Jacob and Co, one of the leading watch brands in the world,” Ronaldo said alongside the watch.

“Today, we reveal our first watch collection that I co-designed with my dear friend Jacob Arabo.”

Manchester United today announced Ronaldo would be leaving the club with immediate effect.

The announcement comes just a week after the striker gave a very open and honest interview to Piers Morgan about his frustrations with the club.

The interview hadn’t been sanctioned by the club.

In an announcement today, Manchester United said the decision was a mutual one.

“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future,” it said in a statement.

“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”

Ronaldo issued his own statement saying “following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early”.

“I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change. However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge,” he said.

Ronaldo is currently in Qatar for the World Cup with the Portugal national team.

It is believed to be the football superstar’s last World Cup.

Actually, in the now (in)famous Piers Morgan interview, Ronaldo was quoted saying: “If I score the winning goal in the final [of the world cup], I will 100% retire”.
