This cruise line has offered a golden passport that starts at $99,000, and the privilege allows you to permanently live in luxury on a cruise ship.
The opportunity is open to retirees who are eager travelers and wish to spend their lives at sea.
But the chance to breathe in salt air for more than a year at a time will leave your wallet with a huge hole in it.
Other costs, such as taxes and port fees, and basic amenities, are included, though, so it’s not all bad.

This cruise line has a golden passport on offer, so you could live in luxury permanently at sea
Cruises are the ultimate luxury holiday package, where travelers pay thousands of dollars to experience a plush life at sea.
The pleasure is often so expensive that the experience is seen as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but that could all be about to change.
One cruise line is offering a special golden passport that could mean a luxury life at sea could be your new permanent reality.

Villa Vie Residences is offering people of retirement age the unique opportunity to own a villa at sea, with prices starting at just shy of 100k.
“Too often, traditional retirement means trading discovery for routine.
“Travel becomes complicated, and opportunities to explore the world grow smaller. But your horizons don’t have to shrink, they can expand,” explained the company.
Prices of the packages start at just $99,000 and range all the way up to $399,999, depending on your age group and choice of deck, and the payment is a one-time thing, too.

So, it’s good news if you’re aged 50 to 90 plus, as your retirement days could be spent breathing in the sea air with basic services and amenities covered, plus no extra charges will occur for port fees or taxes.
“On board Villa Vie Odyssey, your home moves with you, carrying you across 425 destinations and 147 countries every 3.5 years, without ever packing a suitcase,” the company continued.
Cruise ships are vast and impressive vessels
It’s no secret that cruise ships are simply massive, with whole worlds on board, including shopping malls, pools, and even basketball courts.
For example, the brand-new Star of the Seas is now officially the biggest cruise ship in the world, and it includes enough space to accommodate up to 7,600 people when fully booked.
Plus, one retired woman decided to sell everything she owned to live on a cruise ship, as she said it was cheaper than living in California.
There is one thing to note, though: the Villa Vie Odyssey recently failed an inspection, so things will need to change before it can set sail upon the seas once more.
