The darkest Porsche in the world is so dark that it absorbs the light surrounding it.
A shop in Japan decided to paint a Porsche 911 Turbo in Musou Black, a water-based acrylic paint that absorbs 99.4 percent of light.
For reference, regular black paint absorbs somewhere between 94 and 98 percent.
It’s one thing to describe how dark this car is, but you really have to see it with your own eyes.

The darkest Porsche ever looks like it could be a black hole
This isn’t the first time that somebody has opted to make their car as black as the night.
A man previously used Musou Black Fabric Kiwami to make his Nissan Sedan the ‘blackest car ever’.
And then there was the BMW VBX6 decked out in Vantablack – making it so dark that it was deemed too dangerous for roads.

So there is something of a market out there for making cars as black as possible and shunning all other colors.
Not that some cars don’t go to the opposite direction – whip out some sunglasses before you check out this bright yellow Mercedes G-Wagen.
At any rate, it was Japanese shop PIT ONE’s turn to indulge their dark side.
In a video that has gained more than one million views on YouTube, they filmed the creative process.
Before they applied the Musou, they taped up portions of the car that might be vulnerable to paint getting in – door gaps, glass, ducts and the number plate.
By the time they’re ready to paint, the Porsche resembled a bumblebee with all the yellow tape that was on it.

How did the car look when it was finished – and out on the road?
Layers of paint are applied to the car.
Viewing the process is quite a surreal experience – at times it looks as if a thick black sheet has been thrown over the Turbo 911.

And that unearthly feeling didn’t go away with the finished product.
Gone is any shine that the car previously had.
If we had to describe what this car looked like it felt like, crushed velvet may be the best comparison we could draw.
As you might expect, this car was a real heard turned when it took to the streets.

This black beauty cuts a nice figure and stands out from the crowd.
