Technology is advancing at a rapid rate, and now your dashcam experience is set to benefit from using special hazard detection technology.

The new invention from Vantrue brings the best tech to your cam, meaning your journeys could be safer and more fun.

This new dashcam brings a thermal camera into the mix

Let’s be real, the invention of the dashcam is nothing new, but thanks to innovative new methods, this camera contraption could help you in more ways than you’d initially expect.

Recently unveiled at CES 2026, the Vantrue Pilot 2 dashcam is said to be a world first, paving the way for in-car camera technology.

Not only does Apple CarPlay come along for the ride, allowing you to access your usual apps like Waze, Spotify, and access messages, but a thermal camera steals the show.

The thermal camera’s video feed can be found on a 6.25-inch touchscreen, which also includes Android Auto for non-Apple users.

Digital Camera World also reported that it has fatigue alerts, alongside the thermal camera also clever tech that enables it to see objects, people, and animals at a distance of up to 200 feet, with hazard checking thrown in too.

The infrastructure is reportedly made up of four parts: the main dashcam, a rear dashcam, the touchscreen, and last but not least, the clever thermal smart module on the outside.

The technology behind the features is impressive

The dashcam is powered by powerful processors, which means images and information can be processed quickly, ready for you to explore yourself.

Vantrue recently shared the exciting new product on Instagram and labeled it ‘the next leap in dash cam technology’.

There is a catch, however. It is not yet available on Vantrue’s website.

As the famous saying goes, though, good things come to those who wait, and we’re sure more details, including the price, will be revealed very soon.
