In a bid to fit his seven-foot frame into a supercar, California dealership Effortless Motors bought two Corvette models to build a custom Z06 for Shaquille O’Neal, only for him to drop a bombshell on the phone after 12 months.
Ever since he donned the NBA stage, Shaq’s frame has always been a blessing, slam dunking with ease and being undefendable at times.
But when he tries to enjoy his hobby of fast motors, it becomes a hindrance.
So, in a bid to accommodate, Effortless Motors ripped two Corvette supercars apart to build a custom Z06.

California dealership splits two Corvettes to build a stretched Z06
Shaq really struggles to fit inside cars. Especially smart ones.
That’s why he often turns to Effortless Motors to support him with huge custom SUVs and trucks.
So, in a recent upload on their YouTube channel, Effortless Motors bought two Corvettes – one Z06 and another unspecified donor – to chop together and extend the new supercar by 20 inches.

The donor car was immediately sliced in half and stripped back down to the bare chassis. Then, the dealership 3D rendered the custom bodywork panels to suit and surgically crafted this lengthy Z06.
The doors were ten inches wider, while extra modifications like new wheels, headlamps, exhausts, and spoilers were all mounted with the carbon fiber exterior pieces.
“This is not just getting a car and stretching it,” the team said. “We had to literally break this whole car down into pieces.”
“We had to make the seats bigger, the doors bigger, the body bigger. Everything has to be bigger.”
Finally, with a Nappa hand-stitched leather interior, the car was nearing completion.
But to finish the project for the Basketball icon, they revealed that they needed an entire year of development.
Shaquille O’Neal ‘turns down’ his custom Corvette Z06 after delays
Appearing on a video call, Shaq was distraught at the news of his Corvette Z06 being 12 months off finishing, and immediately told them to shut it all down.
“12 months. Forget it,” he said on the phone.
“I don’t even want it. Forget it.”

However, it turned out to be a big joke from the dealership, to get back at Shaq, who had previously pranked them with a diva attitude after they delivered a Cadillac Escalade IQ that was ‘too light’.
The wild supercar was delivered to Shaquille O’Neal earlier this year, and side-by-side with the stock version, it shows off what an exemplary job the California dealership did.
