Kohler has just released a new smart toilet sensor, called the Dekoda, and it is here to make your bathroom the most high-tech room in the house.
It’s sleek, it’s smart, and it knows way more about your body than your smartwatch ever could.
Designed to scan what comes out of you, Dekoda promises to turn every bathroom visit into a mini health checkup.
Yes, the future of wellness tracking might just be sitting right under your seat.

How this ultra smart toilet sensor works
Dekoda is a small, rim-mounted device that sticks to your existing toilet bowl.

About the size of a toilet freshener block, it uses optical sensors and a mini camera to analyze stool and urine, checking for hydration levels, gut health, and even traces of blood.
The data then gets sent straight to your phone, where an app gives you easy-to-read health insights.
Basically, your bathroom can now tell you directly if your diet is lacking something specific.
Before you go, you’ll ‘log in’ via a fingerprint-enabled remote.
This is important because your high-tech toilet needs to know exactly who’s sitting down.
Kohler insists all data is encrypted and stored privately, so no one’s snooping on your… output.
It’s been over a decade in the making, and the brand swears it’s built for accuracy.
However, it does have one funny flaw: darker-colored toilet bowls can confuse the camera.

In other words, if your toilet is black and bougie, Dekoda might have a tough time keeping up.
From tracking sleep to analyzing waste
Now for the not-so-small detail: the price.
Dekoda costs $599, and you’ll need an annual subscription to unlock all of its analytics features.

That’s a lot to pay for a gadget that watches your waste, but if you’re already counting calories and wearing an Apple Watch to track your sleep, this is just the next logical step.
The smart toilet sensor is available for pre-order in the US, though there’s no word yet on when shipments will begin.
Kohler is betting big that health-conscious users will pay good money to make their bathroom a data hub.
In the age of AI, it seems like an obvious next step.
