Disney has officially announced a thrilling new expansion: Piston Peak Cars Land, a brand-new area inspired by Pixar’s Cars universe.
This all-new land brings the charm of Radiator Springs together with the soaring wilderness of Piston Peak National Park, as seen in Disney’s Planes: Fire & Rescue.
Get ready for forested trails, towering mountain views, and plenty of action-packed fun that puts guests right in the driver’s seat of adventure.
With a mix of scenic storytelling and engine-roaring excitement, Disney’s Piston Peak Cars Land is shaping up to be the ultimate destination for fans of fast cars and wild landscapes alike.

This is Disney’s second car-related announcement in the last month, after the company recently unveiled its collaboration with Formula 1.
Piston Peak National Park will be styled after the majestic Rocky Mountains, complete with towering pine trees, snowy peaks, and winding rivers.
If you’ve seen Planes: Fire & Rescue, you’ve already had a sneak peek at the stunning terrain Disney plans to recreate.

The idea is to make guests feel like they’ve stepped into a Pixar version of Yellowstone or Yosemite, but with more talking vehicles.
The expansion will feature two main attractions.
The first, Off-Road Rally Adventure, is shaping up to be a wild ride.
Guests will hop into trackless vehicles and zip through forests, climb rocky paths, and meet brand-new characters from the Cars universe along the way.
It’s the kind of ride that makes you feel like Lightning McQueen and Mater could show up at any moment with snacks and stories.
In fact, you can even try to spot the real cars that were used in the actual movie franchise.
For those looking for something a bit gentler (and perfect for the younger pit crew), there will be a second, family-friendly ride that hasn’t been named yet.
But Disney promises it’ll be fun for all ages and packed with classic Pixar charm.
Beyond the rides, Piston Peak will offer plenty of opportunities to stretch your legs and soak in the view.
Expect scenic walking trails, a cozy visitor lodge, and a Ranger headquarters that adds to the national park vibe.
The new land will connect Liberty Square to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the newly updated Thunder Mountain Railroad, which reopens in 2026.
Unfortunately, a new park means something else has to go, and the Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat will close beginning July 7.
If these attractions are on your must-do list, be sure to visit before July 7, when construction on Piston Peak officially begins.

While Disney hasn’t announced an exact opening date for the new Piston Peak Cars Land, it’s expected to debut no earlier than 2027 or 2028.
With Disney recently announcing its seventh global theme park in Abu Dhabi using a spectacular drone display, it looks like the company is making some serious moves.
