The Tesla Model 3 appears to be taking on a different drag race rival every, single day.
And today, it is the turn of the controversial Dodge Charger Daytona EV.
This all-electric battle is very interesting, as it is normally an ICE-powered car taking on Tesla.
After lining up for this all-EV matchup, we end up with a clear, dominant winner.

By this point, most of you are probably more than familiar with the Tesla Model 3.
As of late, Tesla’s all-EV offering has decided to take on the kings of the quarter-mile.
It is fair to say that the Tesla Model 3 has yielded some interesting results.
The traditional, ICE-powered kings of the quarter-mile have a serious challenge on their hands.
It appears that the immediate power delivery provided by an EV makes it an ideal 1/4 mile weapon.
And recently, another all-electric car (bearing an iconic name) decided to take on the challenge.

By now, you have most likely heard of the Dodge Charger Daytona EV.
Whilst bearing one of the most iconic names in history, this new Charger couldn’t be any more different.
And unfortunately, that difference also applies to the new offering’s popularity.
It turns out that replacing an ICE-powered icon with an EV-powered replacement isn’t popular.
In fact, it has been a bit of a nightmare for Dodge – because the Charger Daytona EV has not been well received.
Regardless of sales popularity, the Charger Daytona EV still has a lot of performance.
And one of the biggest automotive channels on YouTube has decided to put it to the test.
Edmunds Cars is known for producing some of the internet’s most thorough drag races.
And it recently decided to produce its latest offering with the Dodge and the Tesla in starring roles.
Alistair Weaver sits himself behind the wheel of the Tesla Model 3.
His co-host, Reese Counts, enjoys the view from the Dodge Charger Daytona EV.
After running through the numbers, the cars line themselves up on the starting line.
Straight off the bat, Alistair’s Model 3 gets a much better launch – and starts running away.
Reese and his Dodge start labouring behind and struggle to catch any kind of momentum.
Both cars actually finish the drag race slower than what was expected.
However, the Tesla still completes the quarter-mile in an impressive 11.3 seconds.
On the other hand, the Charger Daytona EV takes 12 seconds to finish the race.
Granted, Tesla cars do have much more experience on the drag strip at this point.
But seven-tenths of a second is a mammoth gap by anyone’s standards.
