Dodge cars are known for producing horsepower, muscle and aggression.
The iconic American marque has produced some of the best muscle cars the world has ever seen.
In spite of this lineage, the American company has managed to create something truly ridiculous.
It has built the world’s first muscle car that can wheelie.

Challenger SRT Demon wheelies down the drag strip
As ridiculous as it sounds, you did, indeed, read the headline right.
Dodge is known for dominating the quarter-mile drag strip.
Different variations have been built with the sole purpose of smashing the opposition.
And the muscle car masters have now managed to create something out of Frankenstein’s lab.
In 2018, you may remember that Dodge created a car called the Challenger SRT Demon.

Seven years ago, Dodge got together with one goal – and one goal only – in mind.
To create the world’s most powerful factory drag car.
In case you don’t believe us, Guinness World Records even acknowledges the Challenger SRT Demon.
It has formally recognised the muscle car as the first car ever production car that is capable of performing a wheelie.
How has Dodge achieved this?
The American marque went to staggering effort to tune the car in the best way imaginable.
The 6.2 liter, supercharged V8 produces a staggering 840bhp, as well as 770lb-ft of torque.
If you think this sounds crazy, then you haven’t seen anything yet.
The engineers decided to bolt a 2.7 liter supercharger onto the engine.

The brand also introduced something called the ‘SRT Power Chiller’.
Essentially, this redirects air conditioning coolant to cool the supercharger’s intercooler.
This ensures optimal performance under intense drag racing.
Alongside forged pistons and a high-strength valvetrain, and you have one of the best V8s ever made.
Welcome to the ‘Demon Crate’
As if all this wasn’t enough, Dodge also created the ‘Demon Crate.’
This care package includes a bunch of fun parts to throw onto your Dodge to dominate.
The crate actually came with a new ECU tuned exclusively for using high-octane fuel.
A conical air filter was also included to ensure better airflow.

A set of skinny front wheels was also part of the bundle, as they reduce rolling resistance.
More than just a Dodge drag party bag, the Demon Crate also allowed you to unlock Drag Mode.
This meant that car owners could optimise their cars for drag racing without needing third-party modifications.
It’s fair to say that the Challenger SRT Demon was a truly one-of-a-kind car.
It will be fascinating to see if the world ever sees a car like it again.
