Two men drag race a Corvette ZR1X and a Ford Mustang and one gets so embarrassed they're told to 'drive straight home'

A drag race between two American performance cars, a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X and a Ford Mustang, has given social media plenty to talk about after one driver appeared to get left behind at the starting line.
The showdown saw a ZR1X take on a Ford Mustang Shelby in a straight-line battle.
Both cars are seriously impressive machines, but the result was a little one-sided.
And viewers had some pretty brutal advice for the losing driver.

The footage, shared on Instagram by @Corvetteclub_, shows the two drivers lining up their cars before putting their feet down and racing away
On one side was the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X, while the other driver was behind the wheel of a Ford Mustang Shelby.
It didn’t take long for the ZR1X to make its presence felt.
The Chevrolet put in a seriously impressive launch, quickly establishing an advantage over its Ford rival.
The reported times made for interesting reading, too.
The ZR1X recorded 5.83 seconds, while the Mustang Shelby came in at 6.32 seconds.
That gave the ‘Vette a pretty convincing win, with the Mustang driver left trailing behind.
Viewers weren’t impressed with the Mustang driver’s reaction time
While the ZR1X’s performance was certainly worth celebrating, plenty of viewers thought the Mustang driver could have done a much better job getting off the line.
One commenter was particularly unimpressed, writing: “That was the worst reaction time by the ford driver, jeez”.
Another viewer praised the ZR1X driver’s launch, commenting: “Sheesh ZR1/ZR1X guy reaction was so perfect”.
A third simply summed up the winning car’s getaway, saying: “That Vette launch was nasty”.
It seems the Chevy’s performance wasn’t the only thing people noticed, with the difference between the two drivers’ starts becoming a major talking point, as well as the drag race itself.
The Mustang owner gets some brutal advice
The Instagram post itself didn’t hold back when it came to poking fun at the losing driver.
Its caption read: “This Mustang owner needs to get back home and remove that plate as he got himself spanked and embarrassed!”
It’s fair to say the comments section agreed that the Corvette had put on quite a show.
While the Mustang Shelby is certainly no slouch, this particular showdown wasn’t exactly the result its owner would have been hoping for.
And if the reactions online are anything to go by, the ZR1X driver will be enjoying bragging rights for quite some time.
