This man revealed the maintenance costs of his Ford Mustang Mach-E after nearly 20,000 miles, and he won’t be shocked by your surprise.

YouTuber Cobra Carlos took his viewers on a deep dive into the ins and outs of owning a 2021 Mach-E.

In under a year, the car had been driven 17,920 miles.

Carlos’ wife used the car as a daily driver and the pair had saved an ‘insane’ amount of gas and other expenses.

Breaking down the costs with a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E

When it comes to buying a car, drivers always want to bear costs in mind.

Even beyond the standard amount paid at a dealership, customers have to consider operating costs.

Fortunately, a recent study shed light on which brands are the cheapest.

The Mach-E didn’t make the cut for the top 10, so how does it fare in Carlos’ eyes?

He described the car as ‘amazing’ and detailed the ways in which it had saved him and his wife money.

“This car is very heavy and it’s very fun to put your foot down and mash it on the throttle.

“You’d expect the brakes to wear out sooner.

“But guess what? This has regenerative braking, it saves your brakes. You’re using that energy and putting it back into the battery,” he said.

The Mach-E driver also estimated that the brakes would need changing out every 100,000 miles.

Carlos admitted that the transition from gas to EV had been a little ‘funky’, which isn’t an uncommon experience.

Many drivers find making the change to be difficult, especially the guy who bought himself a Porsche Taycan, as shown in the featured video above.

Ford recommends that the cabin air filter is changed out every 20,000 miles.

Carlos suggested that he would replace it himself with a cheaper filter.

How much money is he saving?

The tires hadn’t given Carlos any trouble either.

Even though it’s recommended that tires get rotated at 7,500 miles, he’d done over double that distance without needing to do that.

But how often does the wiper fluid need changing?

It’s not the most extravagant expense when it comes to maintaining your car, with bottles often costing $5 or $6.

But Carlos admitted it was the most expensive maintenance item – and even then he estimated he’d only spent $3 on it.

“This car breaks the bank when it comes to maintenance,” he sarcastically remarked.

Blinker fluid isn’t present in the Mach-E, so there’s another expense written off.

Carlos even dismissed critics who might have suggested that battery costs for the EV would offset any savings made.

Fortunately, an 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty is in place.

So in conclusion, Carlos spent a whopping $3 on the maintenance of his car in just under a year.

Put that in your adverts, Ford. No, really.
