Ladies and gentlemen, the Tesla factory known as Giga Texas is once again setting the rumor mill in motion.

The brand’s giant facility in the Lone Star State has been the source of many rumors over the past few weeks.

Whispers have swirled about various vehicles, including the impending Cybercab.

And the latest images show two mysterious vehicles being escorted by a Cybertruck.

For months now, Tesla has been at the epicentre of several rumors in the car world.

Many have speculated that Tesla is putting the long-awaited Cybercab into production.

Others have suggested the potential production of a variant of the Model Y.

Recent drone footage, captured by the ever-reliable Joe Tegtmeyer, has set more rumours in motion.

In case you don’t know, Joe is a long-time observer of the facility at Giga Texas.

He has almost become the go-to man for all the latest developments at the Tesla facility.

And his recent video captures something genuinely fascinating.

In a video uploaded to Twitter/X, Joe explained that he was asked to follow a Model Y.

The video captures the new Model Y using the full FSD Unsupervised system.

It is traveling from the main Gigafactory Texas facility to the staging lot – a journey of 1.4 miles.

Like most roads, this journey includes everyday obstacles, such as pedestrians, trucks, and traffic.

Although he originally wanted to capture the Model Y, something else completely caught Joe’s eye.

While recording, he managed to catch two partially covered Tesla cars following a Cybertruck.

These two new Tesla EVs are shaped like the Model Y; however, the entire rear section is covered.

This has led to rife speculation that it could signal the production of a Model Y Performance variant.

Others, however, have suggested that they could be the upcoming affordable cars from the brand.

Previous reports have suggested that a proposed affordable car could be based on the Model Y.

So, such a development would very much be in line with previous reports and suggestions.

In fact, Tesla’s VP of Vehicle Engineering, Lars Moravy, suggested this resemblance earlier this year.

During Tesla’s Q1 earnings call, Moravy said that, ‘models that come out in the next months will be built on our lines and will resemble, in form and shape, the cars we currently make.’

Could this finally be Tesla’s attempt to produce a genuinely affordable EV car? Fingers crossed!
