The Chevy Camaro is one of the kings of the muscle car genre.
For over five decades, it served as a direct rival to the Ford Mustang.
A Camaro recently found itself unearthed in Pennsylvania.
And it turned out to have fascinating origin story.

Back in 1965, one big rumor was dominating the American car industry.
Chevrolet was preparing to release a brand-new pony car for its range.
The car in question was developed with the Ford Mustang squarely in its crosshairs.
This project, codenamed “Panther”, would spawn one of America’s greatest icons.
It led to the release of the Camaro for the 1967 model year.

And it would become perhaps the most iconic car Chevy has ever built.
One of the rarest Camaros ever made by Chevy recently surfaced on the internet.
It turns out that this car has been hiding in a Pennsylvania barn since 1987.
Parker, from the Backyard Barn Finds YouTube channel, is responsible for this epic find.
Following up on a Facebook message from a friend of the owner led to an insane discovery.
It turns out that, after opening the barn, Parker has discovered a 1969 Camaro.
Finding a ’69 Chevy Camaro Z11 is cool and all, but that’s not the best part.
The best part is finding out that this car had a former life as an Indy 500 Pace Car.
Its current owner bought the legendary car in the mid-1980s with an engine knock.
He ultimately parked it in storage after developing a clutch issue.
Underneath the dust and the dirt, the car is still in very good condition.
In fact, the orange houndstooth interior is still remarkably intact.
It doesn’t come with the original 350 cu-in engine, but the 327 block still checks out.
The jewel in this car’s crown, however, is found in the well-preserved trunk.
Because this Chevy Camaro Z11 comes with the original, YJ-coded rally wheels.
The owner is asking for just $30,000 for the entire package of this car.
If you ask us, that’s one hell of a deal for a former Indy 500 Pace Car Chevy Camaro.
