Elon Musk has shared a new video showing Tesla’s humanoid robot Optimus strolling confidently around a lab, a noticeable step up in performance from its earliest demos.
The autonomous robot is now using adapted self-driving tech to walk safely and operate in controlled environments, highlighting how far the AI project has come since its unusual AI Day debut.
Musk says Tesla plans to mass-produce Optimus in high volumes and believes the robot could eventually cost less than a car, potentially landing under the $20,000 mark.
If you want to see how far Tesla’s humanoid robot has actually come, the video is well worth a watch.
