In the ultimate display of luxury spending, the Emir of Qatar sent a Boeing 747 to deliver his family straight to a $500 million superyacht.
This happened back in August 2023, when the 747-8 flew the royal family from Los Angeles to Sardinia, Italy.
As if that wasn’t fancy enough, the Al Lusail superyacht was waiting for them, with 56 crew members on hand to pamper them.
It’s a fascinating insight into how the ultra-rich live.

The Emir of Qatar dispatched a Boeing 747 to fly his family out
When a VIP Boeing 747-8 from Qatar Amiri Flight landed at Italy’s Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in August 2023, there was a fair bit of buzz.
News coverage at the time reported the passengers as being Jawaher bint Hamada Al Thani, the first lady of Qatar, and her children.

And that’s not forgetting the entourage of approximately 30 people.
Their plane had flown in from Los Angeles and was delivering the family to the Al Lusail, a 123-meter superyacht worth around $500 million.
This stunning vessel would be their home base for their summer spent on the Mediterranean.

Designed by H2 Yacht Design on the outside and March & White on the inside, it’s a blend of modern luxury and royal opulence.
Among its amenities are an indoor cinema, a spa, a gym, and an indoor pool.
Sounds like an awesome summer, right?

The Qatari royals live a life of luxury
As this story illustrates, the Qatari royal family lives a life of near-unparalleled luxury.
You would expect as much from a family that has an estimated net worth of more than $335 billion, Yahoo! Finance reported.

Whether it’s gifting planes to Türkiye or to the US, the family is exporting the treasures of its wealth around the world.
Even in the streets of London, its affluence is on full display – as was evident when the Emir’s $2 million Koenigsegg ended up getting clamped outside Harrods.
Not that the $100 fine would have made much of a dent; it was parked outside the store he’d purchased for $2.3 billion ultimately.
