A long-lost plane that has been missing for over 53 years may have been finally found.
An undersea investigator says he’s found the wreckage of a long-lost plane missing since 1971.
The private jet was thought to have crashed into Lake Champlain with five people on board.

The wreck of the long-lost plane was never found despite search attempts by police and private citizens.
However, Garry Kozak, who has also found other wrecks beneath the ocean floor, claims that he has found the plane.
They found the site by referencing data from a 2014 search.
Through this data, they identified a possible crash site.
After that, he and a colleague used a side scan sonar system on the location.
“We went back out a week ago and took a very high-resolution sonar, and there was no doubt we had a crash site,” said Kozak.
He and his team analyzed data from all the way back in 1997.
Ultimately, they found a debris field consistent with the wreckage of a small plane crash.
Previously, experts have also found traces of Amelia Earhart’s long-lost plane.
However, it is hard to confirm the plane’s identity when it’s so deep underwater.
And that’s the same case here, albeit with a silver lining. The experts also used a remote submersible vehicle on the site.
Through the remote vehicle, they identified the wreckage of a plane with the same paint scheme as N400CP.
The undersea search expert says he’s 99% sure he and a colleague have found the long-lost plane that crashed more than 50 years ago.
However, they can’t be certain as they don’t have the number of the submerged jet.
“How many corporate jets have crashed in Lake Champlain? This is the only one I know,” he said.
How many planes have crashed that had a custom paint job, which was black-red-black striping, on the side of the aircraft?” he said in a statement.
Let’s hope that with this, the five-decade-long mystery is finally laid to rest and the families of the five missing people find closure.
