Today’s story is yet another heart-warming tale of the reunion of man and machine.
And a 1968 Dodge Charger sits at its center.
The YouTube channel Gary’s Garage sets the scene for this incredible story.
Gary’s dad was once the proud owner of a 1968 Dodge Charger.
He bought the car back in 1988, when it was a 20-year-old machine.
Like many of us, he used the muscle car icon for what muscle cars do best.

Tyres were shredded, traffic lights were taken as an invite – you name it.
But Gary’s dad moved on with his life – and he moved on from the 1968 Dodge Charger, too.
For 37 years, both man and machine were apart.
But he spent all that time secretly wanting it back.
One day, he mentioned the story to his son, Gary, and his friends.

And that story re-telling led to the ultimate road trip.
As it turns out, this iconic machine ended up in Buffalo, New York.
And the story gets even more intriguing from there.

The man who purchased the 1968 Dodge Charger from Gary’s dad sadly passed away.
It then passed to his sister, whose daughter at the time had a boyfriend who did bodywork.
He wanted to restore the iconic muscle car, but it didn’t work out.
Of course, locating the car wasn’t the easiest task.
A few others fit the description in the wider Buffalo area, but Gary’s dad’s Charger was distinguishable by its 1969 taillights.
After visiting the others, the YouTubers finally found the car they had been looking for.
And it’s fair to say that it was a truly wonderful and emotional reunion.
Make sure to check out the video – because it is truly worth watching.
