A Ferrari 458 Italia supercar with a V8 engine has now passed 242,000 miles, a milestone rarely reached by cars of this kind.
Delivered in July 2011, the car came with a 4.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 producing 570hp, connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
It accelerates from 0 to 60mph in about 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 202mph.
The fact that this high-performance sports car is still being driven daily shows how it has held up over more than a decade.

High-mile Ferrari 458 Italia
When the Ferrari 458 Italia launched in 2011, it marked a new phase for the company’s mid-engined models.
The dual-clutch gearbox replaced older systems, offering smoother shifts and more reliable performance over time.
In this case, the car has logged more than 390,000kms, which is extraordinary for a Ferrari supercar.
The design balanced performance with usability. The aerodynamic body reduced drag and added stability at speed.

Inside, the cabin placed the driver at the center with a large tachometer and simple controls.
The car also came with carbon ceramic brakes, chosen for their ability to deliver consistent stopping power under repeated use.
Most Ferrari 458 Italia cars cover only a fraction of this distance, often kept as collectibles with limited driving.
This example proves that with regular maintenance, a Ferrari supercar can operate as a long-distance vehicle while still performing like a high-performance sports car.
It shows how the engineering of the V8 engine and transmission has held up under heavy use.
The 458 Italia’s legacy
The 458 Spider arrived later in 2011 with a retractable aluminum roof that folded in 14 seconds.
Its coupe and Spider versions together laid the foundation for models such as the Ferrari 488 GTB and F8 Tributo.
Several of the features first used in the Ferrari 458 Italia were carried forward across Ferrari’s range.

The dual-clutch transmission became standard, and the aerodynamic lessons shaped the cars that followed.
The naturally aspirated V8 engine remains a highlight for enthusiasts, since later Ferrari supercars have adopted turbocharged and hybrid power.
The story of one Ferrari 458 Italia reaching 242,000 miles highlights the car’s strength in real-world conditions.
It remains a defining Ferrari supercar of its era, combining the qualities of a high-performance sports car with a level of durability that continues to surprise.
