This man from Florida couldn’t believe the offer he received in person on his 2021 Toyota Corolla.
After realizing that he didn’t need his Toyota, one driver decided to sell it at a CarMax branch in Jacksonville, Florida.
But, he claims that he ended up having a ‘frustrating’ experience as the offer he agreed to after scanning a QR code online didn’t match one on the paperwork.
However, he also detailed wait times and conflicting members of staff as an issue, too.

This man wanted to sell his Toyota Corolla, but was left unimpressed by the offer he was presented with
When buying a selling cars, the process can sometimes be lengthy and stressful, so many car lovers often go down the route of using a third party.
By using dedicated car sellers, drivers can often sell their vehicles quickly and easily, although sometimes things don’t always go to plan, which this guy says he experienced firsthand.
One content creator, johnthadden, shared his experience selling his 2021 Toyota Corolla with CarMax in Jacksonville, Florida, as he was left unimpressed by the whole thing.

“We just simply don’t need two cars anymore, we were not buying a car, we were just trying to get rid of a car,” explained the Toyota Corolla owner.
The man had a bit of a wait as he didn’t have an appointment, but then got a QR code to scan and fill out the information on his vehicle, where they disclosed issues such as a stain and information about a fender bender.
He then had to scan another code to say that he was happy with the offer on his 2021 Toyota Corolla and accepted it.
But, things went downhill soon after as the creator’s car had a title that was listed in his mother-in-law’s and wife’s name, as his mother-in-law had signed over power of attorney.
However, one member said that they couldn’t sell the car without his mother-in-law present, but another member later said it was fine, which caused confusion.
He then allegedly had more time waiting, which he claims had totaled around two hours before asking for an update on his Toyota Corolla sale.
Upon asking, the member of staff reportedly claimed that they were still waiting and their names had been called alongside a mobile call, which the driver claims wasn’t true.
When they finally were dealt with, the offer on the paperwork was allegedly $2,000 less than the accepted online offer, which left them unhappy.

“Before we waste either one of our time, is that the offer? Because it’s two grand lower than we’re okay with, and no one has talked to us about this,” he claims he said to the member of staff.
So, after querying it and the member of staff talking to a manager and starting to move forward, the creator decided to leave. labelling it ‘frustrating’.
“Would I recommend that you not go to CarMax? Not necessarily, but certainly CarMax needs to do a little bit better, even on Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida,” the content creator concluded.
