When this man found a personal hovercraft listed for sale online, he decided to go and check it out despite concerns it could be his ‘worst idea ever’.
You can find all sorts of weird and wonderful vehicles for sale online, like this former ambulance that cost $5,000, or this helicopter that turned up on Facebook Marketplace.
More recently, plane enthusiast Jimmy Webb from the Jimmy’s World YouTube channel managed to find a small hovercraft up for grabs.
But it’s safe to say that what he discovered left him feeling more than a little concerned.

Would buying the personal hovercraft be the ‘worst idea ever’?
Jimmy is no stranger to buying used aircraft; he previously bought a private jet that once belonged to Elvis Presley, and this 1947 Cessna that he snapped up for just $10,000.
During a recent hunt for new projects on eBay, he found a personal hovercraft for sale and couldn’t hide his excitement.

“This may be my worst idea ever,” he admitted.
“It’s so bad, it’s got to be good.”
Well, we guess that’s one way of looking at it.
Jimmy then headed out to the seller to get a better look at the hovercraft and find out a little more about its history.
After arriving, he asked the owner where he got it from, and he admitted he also found it on Facebook Marketplace and had also asked himself, ‘What am I doing?’
The seller explained that the hovercraft ‘hovers’ and ‘works’ but added that it didn’t go very fast, so it didn’t feel like a scary ride.
The owner said he’d bought it hoping to work on the hovercraft, but things hadn’t gone to plan, and now he was looking to get rid of it to free up some room in his workshop.

The hovercraft had several issues, but he still tried to strike a deal
Jimmy opened it to get a look at its engine and was left surprised by what he saw.
“That is the sketchiest thing ever,” he said with a laugh.
And that wasn’t the only shock.
The seller then revealed that the hovercraft had once caught fire due to a fuel leak.

The owner wanted $1,000 for the hovercraft, and although Jimmy tried to talk him down to $800, he held firm.
In the end, Jimmy decided against buying the hovercraft, pointing out that the skirts needed repairing and it had some issues with the battery, which could be costly.
“The only reason I’m hesitant is that thing is busted,” he said.
“And I don’t know what I’d be getting into once I get in there.”
