Abu Dhabi just got a taste of pure Disney magic.
To celebrate the future Disneyland Abu Dhabi, a jaw-dropping light show lit up the skies over Yas Island.
The highlight? A flying castle, comprised entirely of 9,000 drones.
The park will be Disney’s seventh global theme park, and its first in the region.

Dubai-based Lumasky is the architect behind this amazing display.
Showing that drones are not only useful for spying on certain carmakers, the company delivered a true work of art.
9,000 custom-engineered drones danced across the sky, forming glowing characters and dazzling animations.

Each drone was loaded with ultra-bright LED lights, capable of displaying over four billion color combinations.
The star of the show was a giant replica of Cinderella’s Castle, hovering above the city.

This record-breaking display marked the largest drone show ever seen in the Arabian Gulf.
But the magic didn’t stop there.
The drone show was complemented by a symphony of fireworks that illuminated the sky, set to music from beloved Disney classics.

Adding to the grandeur were live performances by world-renowned pianist Lang Lang, acclaimed Emirati singer Rashed Alnuaimi, and other artists.
Disney has not revealed an official opening date yet for Disneyland Abu Dhabi, but the hype is real.
“This new destination project will be fully developed and built by Miral, with Disney and its legendary Imagineers leading creative design and operational oversight,” said the company.
Miral is an Abu Dhabi-based leisure and entertainment company that runs attractions like Ferrari World and Sea World.
The resort promises to seamlessly blend Disney’s iconic stories, characters, and attractions with Abu Dhabi’s vibrant culture, stunning shorelines, and breathtaking architecture.
With Abu Dhabi being known for police trucks that look at home in a sci-fi movie, and the world’s first autonomous racing league, we can expect the new park to be super high-tech.
