Ford has taken a sharp turn from the workhorse world of electric trucks, by unveiling a wild new version of its electric SUV: the Super Mustang Mach-E.
This SUV isn’t built for hauling cargo, but for racing up a mountain.
Specifically, it’s gearing up for the legendary Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, in Colorado, one of the most thrilling and challenging races in motorsports.
With a bold design and outrageous performance, this electric beast is aiming to prove that EVs can be just as fun – and fast – as their gas-guzzling counterparts.

Ford Performance shared several images of the new Super Mustang on Instagram.
This isn’t your typical family-friendly Mach-E, which is already outselling its gas-powered sibling.
No, the Super Mustang Mach-E is special.
It is a race-bred, track-slaying monster designed by Ford Performance to tear up the high-altitude twists of Pikes Peak.

Though Ford is being coy with the exact specs, the Instagram post states that the car is capable of generating a jaw-dropping 6,125LBS of downforce.
That’s more downforce than a small plane, which is perfect for keeping the tires glued to the pavement as it rockets toward the clouds.
And Pikes Peak is no Sunday drive.
It’s a 12.4-mile climb with 156 hair-raising turns and an altitude gain of over 14,000 feet.
And who better to tackle it than racing legend Romain Dumas, who’s already made history on this mountain?
He’ll be behind the wheel of this EV missile, using all that downforce to dance around corners and hopefully land Ford another big motorsport moment.
So why ditch the electric truck effort?
Well, building a screaming, high-performance Mustang Mach-E that can rip up a mountain is a pretty great way to show off what Ford’s EV tech can really do.

As the 2025 Hill Climb approaches, fans will be watching closely to see if the Super Mustang can conquer the mountain and maybe even make some EV history along the way.
Record-setting cars at Pikes Peak tend to be iconic vehicles, like the Lamborghini Urus from a few years back, so time will tell whether the Super Mustang will be up to the task.
