This guy in the UK bought a Ford Fiesta from Autotrader with an interesting challenge in mind.
He wanted to see if he could make the entire fee back as profit.
That was definitely an ambitious goal, especially with an unassuming car like the Fiesta.
But the result might surprise you.

‘Flipping’ cars is getting out of hand
These days, people are flipping all kinds of cars.
Including humble cars like the Ford Fiesta.
We’ve seen it with supercars, but we’ve also seen it with the Tesla Cybertruck back when it was still hugely popular.
In the early phase of production, Tesla put a no-resale clause on the Cybertruck because people were either buying the truck just to sell it, or sometimes they were selling their allocation altogether.
A while back, a rare Peugeot sold for over $350,000.
It was a rare and limited-edition rally car, but still a Peugeot.
So, in a way, the result of this ‘experiment’ doesn’t surprise us.

The Autotrader challenge nearly worked
This UK guy bought a Ford Fiesta from Autotrader for £1,000 – around $1,300.
He wanted to sell it for exactly £1,000, and even though he didn’t manage to do that, the result was still impressive.
He documented the whole thing on his YouTube channel, 110.Octane, and it went well.

The car was in relatively good shape, but there were a few things that needed fixing.
Among other things, he had to replace the brake pads, the oil and air filter, and also some clutch components.
In the end, the car cost him £1,610 ($2,140) in total, including repairs.
And he ended up selling the car for £2,420 ($3,300) for a total profit of £810 ($1,000).
So even though he technically didn’t make back the whole amount, he still managed to turn a $1,000 profit.
