In the weirdest amalgamations of gaming crossovers featuring the Rocket League flying cars and NPCs from Fortnite, The Simpsons: Hit & Run is back… kind of.

Although it faces stiff competition from some of the older Grand Theft Auto games, The Simpsons: Hit & Run might just be the best car-based game of our youth.

Whether it’s running over Millhouse with Mr Plow, or flying through the ring of fire in Homer’s pink sedan, the game hosted endless hours of fun.

But having been away for 22 years, we can now relive our golden days of gaming, thanks to Fortnite and Rocket League.

Fortnite gets a Springfield Makeover

Epic Games is the master of collaborations. Only in Fortnite can you fill out a Cybertruck with Peter Griffin, Peely, Darth Vader, and John Wick.

The iconic battle royale title is always throwing new characters into Tilted Towers, and even dropping car crossovers so people can escape the ring in style.

But there will be no Greasy Grove or Demon’s Dojo this November, as Springfield is now the new map.

Yep, Fortnite has gone yellow. The Simpsons have taken over, Homer is getting giddy with his battleaxe, and you can drop straight into 742 Evergreen Terrace and crack open a cold Duff beer.

The bizarre, yet wonderful, Fortnite and Simpsons crossover is littered with Easter eggs, too.

From stepping on rakes and getting a smack in the face like Sideshow Bob to being able to sit on the couch with your gang and watching Itchy and Scratchy, the whole experience has been ported over.

But arguably the best feature is getting behind the wheel of a car and reliving the good old days, yeeting enemies into the air.

Rocket League cars in Fortnite makes The Simpsons: Hit & Run 2 a reality

With cars now fully integrated into the Fortnite experience, it’s taken next to no time for people to start showing off their driving and harnessing everything they learned in The Simpsons: Hit & Run.

One clip from Rocket League creator Treyven ‘Lethamyr’ Robitaille even shows the flying cars getting involved throughout The Simpsons’ house, which ups the ante even further.

While Lethamyr’s video is mainly showing off the house, others have been getting around Springfield and causing destruction.

Given it’s the same publisher, The Simpsons collaboration has also made its way to Rocket League’s main hub, where players are getting the ‘Doh’ sounds for hitting the post, and being able to sport the pink sedan in-game.

Rocket League has no shortage of collabs itself, having recently added the Alpine A110, which joins a long list of actual supercars that can now play ‘soccar’.
