Tesla Model 3 owner shuts down misconception

Owning an EV has been the subject of much debate.

The myths surrounding them often concern the range – or lack thereof – as well as depreciation hitting EVs badly.

But one Reddit poster has decided to share their experience.

And this driver has delivered quite a shocking verdict.

Having owned a Tesla Model 3 Long Range for four years, this is what they had to say.

“We drive a lot and were spending a ridiculous amount on fuel, so wanted to reduce our costs,” they explained.

They decided to pick up a Tesla Model 3 Long Range to tackle those harsh Canadian winters.

And the end result was…they absolutely love it.

Having driven the EV just over 108,000 miles, the Reddit poster couldn’t believe the vehicle’s performance during the winter.

They also upgraded their home EV charger as part of the process and enjoyed minimal maintenance costs.

“It is crazy cheap to drive, especially when charging at home,” the driver explained.

“I can’t imagine a scenario where we won’t have an EV as our everyday vehicle. They are the perfect commuter.”

Experience shared by several others

At this point, you might be shocked by just how well the Tesla Model 3 Long Range has held up.

But there was another factor in how much the driver was able to save.

And that factor was the installation of solar panels – which ultimately reduced charging costs.

But it turns out that these experiences aren’t just limited to the original poster.

Because several people chimed in on the post to share their perspectives on EV ownership.

“I save $6,000 a year on fuel,” someone posted under the original.

“I can justify the price.”

Another reaction was even more emphatic in its position.

“We will never go back to gas for our commute vehicles,” the person in question commented.

“The amount we save on gas a month pays for the car payment basically.”

It certainly appears that EV ownership has its benefits for an increasing number of people.
