German tuning company Brabus has unveiled its ambitious plans to build a luxury island in Abu Dhabi’s Al Seef district.

Brabus was founded in 1977 as an aftermarket high-performance tuning company.

It is, of course, best known for its work on Mercedes-Benz models, but has also modified numerous other vehicles, including Porsches.

Now, the company is branching out into real estate with the super luxe ‘Brabus Island’.

Brabus isn’t the only automotive company in the real estate space

While a move into real estate might seem a little left-field for a car company, Brabus isn’t the first automotive maker to branch out into property.

Aston Martin has a luxury tower block in downtown Miami, Bugatti has its extravagant Bugatti Residences, and Porsche has a 56-story tower with its own sky garage and car elevator.

However, Brabus is going one step further, with its plans to launch its luxury island, which will be home to a total of 450 luxury residences spread across numerous towers and villas.

In total, the development will measure 100,000 square meters and will offer various accommodations from beach villas to townhouses.

The properties – 350 of which will be apartments – will be offered with three signature interior design schemes and, as you’d expect from the high-end tuning company, they’re all very swanky.

The themes include the dramatic Black and Bold, the sophisticated Gray Haven, and White Bliss, which has a minimalist vibe.

CEO Constantin Buschmann says it will be building a ‘lifestyle’ with the new luxury island development.

“Brabus Island is both an incredible milestone and an evolution that makes sense,” he said.

“For nearly five decades, Brabus has built products that move people — emotionally, viscerally, physically.

“But this is different.

“Now, for the first time, we’re not just designing vehicles for a lifestyle — we’re designing the lifestyle itself.”

Construction on the development is set to get underway pretty soon, during the summer of this year, with a view to completing the first property handovers in 2028.

But if you’re interested, you’ll need some deep pockets, as properties are expected to be sold for between $800,000 and $7.4 million apiece and will range in size from around 1,152 to 4,908 square feet.

However, with the Brabus name attached to the development, we’re sure it will pique the interest of car lovers and gearheads from around the world.
