A hidden Apple CarPlay feature could give motorists peace of mind that their car is safe and secure.

Apple CarPlay has become a core part of many cars, offering us a chance to listen to music via our phones, use maps for navigation, and so much more.

But some interesting, hidden features make it even more useful, and with extra benefits for many motorists that include ones related to the car’s security.

If you do find this feature and its functions, you might feel a little less stressed.

Apple CarPlay includes a parking spot update

The biggest hidden feature in Apple CarPlay, as far as we’re concerned, is the parking spot update.

If you’ve been in a busy shopping mall or parked in a massive parking lot, there’s a chance you’ve forgotten where you parked the car once or twice.

CarPlay has a parking spot feature that can tell you where you have parked, as the geolocation is saved on both Apple and Google Maps.

This allows the location to be easily accessed while you are out and about.

You can also get push notifications that regularly remind you where the car is.

No longer do you need to drop a manual pin on a maps app to save your car’s location.

The Apple software has other hidden features

Location marking isn’t the only useful feature that Apple CarPlay has hidden away.

An interesting feature is the wallpaper customization.

What this allows you to do is customize the dashboard wallpaper separately from that of your iPhone.

While there is no custom wallpaper option on CarPlay, you can select from various images and themes.

The software also has a screenshot feature.

If you do take a screenshot via your car’s dashboard, it also saves it automatically to your iPhone’s camera roll.

It could be that you want to screenshot messages from work for later, or a location you are driving to.

The feature probably isn’t quite as useful as the parking spot locator.

However, it shows Apple’s software has plenty of things that we can play with and utilize.
