Honda is offering a staggering $20,000 discount on the Prologue.

With the $7,500 federal EV tax credit set to expire on September 30, the company is slashing prices on its electric SUV.

In some states, this amounts to more than $20,000.

Nationwide, the 2025 Prologue will be $17,000 less, plus zero percent interest for six years.

The Honda Prologue – now $20,000 cheaper

The amount you can save on a Honda Prologue can very much depend on which state you live in.

But at any rate, you’re going to save some cash.

The $17,000 nationwide discount includes $9,500 in financing bonuses and the $7,500 EV tax credit.

If you got a six-year loan on a $50,000 Prologue, the financing deal would cost around $33,000 before taxes and fees, CarsDirect estimated.

In states with Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) mandates, you can score up to $20,300 off on the Prologue.

The following states are ZEV states:

  • California
  • Oregon
  • Washington
  • Colorado
  • Nevada
  • Minnesota
  • New York
  • Vermont
  • Maryland
  • Virginia
  • New Jersey
  • Maine
  • Massachusetts
  • Rhode Island
  • Connecticut

This sounds great, right?

But that inevitably leads to one question – what’s the catch?

Well, this deal ends on September 30, the same day that the federal tax credit for EVs runs out.

So you better be quick with bagging your bargain.

Why the Honda Prologue is selling so well

It’s not like the Honda Prologue needs any additional help, moving cars off the lot.

It’s been some of a Dark Horse, quietly outselling its competition with a 80 percent spike in sales in August.

Plenty of people are counting themselves as happy customers, including one woman who calls it a ‘Range Rover dupe‘.

The Honda Prologue offers up to 296 miles of range and is capable of up to 155 kW peak during DC fast charging.

The SUV has become one of America’s most popular EVs and has seen a sharp rise in sales in 2025.

In the second half of this year, it’s become the best-selling EV SUV behind the consistently popular Tesla Model Y

That takes some doing.
