Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness have put their Hamptons holiday home up for rent for $500,000.

The Hollywood couple first bought the East Hampton property in 2015 for $3.5 million before spending six years renovating it into their dream holiday home.

“It was this little artist’s shack. It had good bones, but it was from the ’70s, and it was all stone tiles. I thought, Oh, my God, how can I transform this without pulling it down?” Furness told Architectural Digest.

Now after six years of renovation, Furness said the home was her and her husband’s minimalist dream.

Overlooking the bay, the home has just about every amenity you could ask for including a gym, theater, pool, and jacuzzi.

Not only is the house set on the waterfront, it’s high on the bluff, giving it spectacular views over Gardiner’s Bay in East Hampton.

Jackman’s wife Deborra-Lee Furness worked with architect Stelle Lomont Rouhani and interior designer Eleanor Donnelly to create what they call ‘zen tranquility’.

Set on 2.5 acres, the home has five bedrooms and five and a half baths.

The estate is actually made up of two separate homes; the main house and a guest house.

Furness said she wanted to create “simplistic, modern minimalism”.

“I took influences from Japan, from Morocco, from all my travels over the years,” she said.

The rental has been listed for $500,000 over winter, from Memorial Day to Labour Day.

This works out to be $166,666 per month.

Jackman and Furness invest a lot of time and money into their property portfolio.

The couple currently has their New York City apartment on the market for $38.9 million.

They listed it for $18 million more than they bought it for back in 2008.

The three-floor apartment has five bedrooms, a library, a spa and a terrace that overlooks the famed Hudson River and New York Harbor.

The pair clearly didn’t need the apartment to sell before buying a new home, as they dropped $22.1 million on a new penthouse in the city in August last year.
