The idea of headphones reading our minds while we are playing a game might sound like pure fantasy, unless you are HyperX.

HyperX has announced that it is currently developing such a headset, and it aims to boost the gaming experience of players worldwide.

The headset will use AI to read the brain, and allegedly, it will also improve gaming performance, including faster reaction times.

Developed in conjunction with Neurable, the headset does sound like science fiction, but this could soon become a reality.

How the headphones will read our minds

The new headset was announced during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Along with brain-computer interface technology, the headset could read the signals coming from our brains.

This, according to both companies, will help aid our performances in games.

Neurable’s non-invasive neurotechnology will aim to improve accuracy and response time from players.

Neurable already has experience with this with its Prime system.

The company claimed that esports athletes did see faster reaction times as well as improved accuracy.

It is easy to think this is some sort of dream we are having while reading this.

But both companies are confident that they can create this headset.

Improving the performance of players

Players should, in theory, have improved performance with the headsets.

There will, however, be some skeptics out there.

Any improvement could simply be put down to the player themselves improving over time.

Some may not like the idea of a headset monitoring their brain, and perhaps sending that information to the manufacturer.

But similar products already released by Neurable have shown that these systems do work.

At the time of writing, neither company had revealed potential pricing for the headphones.

Nor has a release date been confirmed by either brand.

Our best guess would be that more news comes in 2026, with a possible release late in the year or in early 2027.

Many of us love the idea of getting better at the games we play.

Perhaps this is the answer to our prayers.
