This barn find is probably one of the saddest ones you’ll ever hear about because it features vintage cars – among other vehicles – abandoned for five decades or more on this farm in the US state of Illinois.

The only problem is that all the cars are in a not-so-great condition, which might also be an understatement.

However, there are some memorable rides, even though they might not be driveable.

If you’re wondering, all of these were taken out of closed-door barns and put on a farm for public display.

Man finds a pack of abandoned vintage cars on Illinois farm

A YouTuber who goes by Mr. Goodpliers filmed an extremely thorough walkthrough of this entire collection and posted it on his channel.

This collection includes everything from ‘ancient’ pickup trucks and muscle cars to industrial farming machinery.

That’s quite the range for a barn find, but these were more like rescue items instead of a full-fledged classic car collection.

Right off the bat, the YouTuber met with an aisle of Chevy coupés, pickup trucks, and four-doors.

It’s safe to say that although these appeared to be ‘not bad’ from the outside, it was actually the opposite.

The interiors of all these cars had undoubtedly failed the test of time and were devoured by rust, corrosion, vegetation, and otherworldly things.

Moreover, the vintage cars were obviously not in a restorable condition, so you can only have a good look and take a trip down memory lane with them.

Too many everyday rides now abandoned

The host visited another aisle to be greeted with a bunch of vintage Ford and GM cars.

These were mostly two-door and four-door variants of some iconic names from the 1940s and late 1950s.

Some were even custom-built because they featured custom tires and exterior modifications.

It was certainly a disappointing sight if you like classic cars, and it’s devastating to see them end up like this.

But how exactly did these many abandoned vintage cars end up on an Illinois farm?

As the host revealed, many of the cars were parked inside a barn decades ago, and some were rescued from other places, too.

The cars never had any proper protection to prevent moisture and rust, so they kept deteriorating.

Most of the vintage cars had seen more daylight while parked than they should have, so they naturally ended up like this.

This might not be anything like the best classic car collection we’ve seen, but it did serve a purpose.

That is, if you like seeing historic cars in a somewhat miserable state.
