The Italian police have been using a Lamborghini Huracán for a while, and the supercar is still there – still alive and kicking.
Still running like clockwork.
Not bad for a supposedly ‘fragile’ supercar with over 200,000 miles on the clock.
And this, lest we forget, is a ‘decorated hero’ – so to speak.
Italian law enforcement agencies have truly stunning vehicles at their disposal
Everyone knows about the police in Dubai, but Italy’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies have also access to some pretty cool cars.
For years, the ‘Carabinieri’ – the Italian gendarmerie – used a Lotus Evora, and the Italian police used to have two Lamborghini Gallardos, which were later replaced by a pair of Huracáns.
And that’s not all, because both the Carabinieri and the police also use 503hp Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglios.
And speaking of Lambos, the Police also have an Urus Performante.
But it gets better.

A few years ago, the police seized a Ferrari 458 Italia from a crime organization and turned it into a patrol car.
This was apparently designed to be a marketing ‘stunt’ but also a message: as in, crime doesn’t pay.
This Lamborghini Huracán is a hero car, literally
This Lamborghini Huracán is a ‘hero car’ in every sense – not just for headlines and marketing, but as a literal lifesaver.
A while back, the police used it in an emergency situation to transport a kidney for a transplant.
They left Rome in the morning and reached Padua, about 500km north of the capital, just three hours later.
The cops also managed to preserve the kidney because the car is equipped with a refrigeration unit designed for emergency organ deliveries.

That was around six years ago, during the Pandemic, but the car is still there.
And 220,000 miles later, it’s still patrolling the highway.
Further proof that this is a high-performance supercar, but also a reliable workhorse.
