In a true battle for billionaires’ bragging rights, the gathering of superyachts for the annual festival in St Barts saw the Jeff Bezos yacht ‘Koru’ take center stage.

As 2024 came to a close, 173 billionaires brought their superyachts to the shores of St Barts as the capital city of Gustavia played host to the richest of the rich.

With the signature Michelin-star restaurants and designer shops donning the harbor in its typically lavish fashion, the waters were in fine form too.

But it was the $500 million Jeff Bezos yacht ‘Koru’ that stood the tallest and ruled St Barts again.

Jeff Bezos Yacht dominates St Barts season

The St Barts high season rounds off each year in spectacular fashion, and 2024 was no different.

According to BoatPro’s global tracker, an impressive 173 superyachts anchored themselves down on the shores.

But the star of the show was Koru, which was also recently spotted in the Bay of Palma by a VIP yacht charter service, Sail Trip Mallorca.

Owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, the $500m superyacht is touted as the most luxurious vessel ever made, with its three-mast design being just one of the elements that make this boat stand out above all else.

It is technically not the largest superyacht in the world – that accolade goes to Google Co-Founder Sergey Brin – but it is the most expensive.

Still, the magnificent vessel and its statue of Norse god Freyja were the centerpiece of yet another St Barts celebration.

Other yachts in attendance included the $360m superyacht owned by Shahid Khan, Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie’s $300 million Kaos, and WhatsApp founder Jan Koum’s 328-foot behemoth.
