A Jaguar MKII Convertible, owned by Noel Gallagher, a one-off classic car built to the musician’s order, has been sold after spending much of its life in storage.
The car began as a 1967 Jaguar MKII sedan and was converted in the mid-1990s by British specialist Vicarage.
Gallagher commissioned the work while Oasis was at its peak, choosing upgrades that made the car easier to drive and maintain.
Now, after years away from the spotlight, this distinctive convertible is set to write its next chapter.

How the Jaguar MKII became a rock star’s convertible
The 1967 Jaguar MKII started life as a standard four-door before undergoing a major conversion.
Gallagher asked for the rear doors to be removed, the front doors extended, and a fully electric folding roof fitted.
Power steering, electric windows, and an automatic gearbox were added, making it simpler to use than a standard MKII.
Gallagher did not have a driving license at the time, so he never drove the classic car himself.

On rare occasions, his wife took it out, but it mostly stayed in storage.
It did, however, appear in a Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds music video, with actor Matt Smith behind the wheel.
In 2022, Jaguar Land Rover Classic acquired the car and presented it at Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Model Twiggy rode in the back during the event, adding another high-profile moment to its history.
These appearances, though infrequent, kept the convertible in the public eye.
Why this classic car stands out to collectors
The Jaguar MKII is widely regarded as one of the defining British saloons of the 1960s.
Convertible versions are uncommon, and custom builds like Gallagher’s are particularly rare.
When combined with a known ownership history, they tend to draw strong interest from collectors.
Market demand for the MKII has been steady, with buyers often looking for a classic car that blends authenticity with distinctive features.

The Gallagher example, finished in black with a red leather interior and chrome wire wheels, also offers seating for four and usable luggage space, a practicality not often found in convertibles.
With the sale now confirmed, Noel Gallagher’s Jaguar MKII Convertible moves on from a long chapter of private ownership.
Its story links British car design with a period of major cultural influence, making it notable both as a classic car and as part of a wider history.
