The electric Jaguar Type 01 EV everyone’s been talking about is finally here.
And it looks every bit as dramatic as the concept promised.
The 1,016hp production car brings some seriously ambitious ideas with it.
The Supercar Blondie team got to see it up close as it was unveiled in New York.
Jaguar stayed true to the vision
A while back, Jaguar rebranded with a new logo, a new ‘brand identity’ and a new concept car.
The concept car was massive.
It was incredibly long, incredibly wide, and very disruptive.
Kudos to Jaguar because they decided to stay true to their vision and essentially made a production model that’s practically identical to the original concept.
Well, here it is.

The new Jaguar Type 01 EV has a lot of power
Called the Type 01 EV, it puts out 1,016 horsepower and it is fitted with a 120kWh battery pack, which is good enough for 400 miles of range.
It’s also massive – 204 inches or 5.2 meters – which makes it longer than a Tesla Model S.
It also does 0-60 in 3.1 seconds.
Also, just like the Polestar 4, it has no rear window, and it relies on a camera instead.

Among other things, it features massage seats, cabin air purification, selectable fragrances, and a central 7-inch smartphone-style interface.
When will the Type 01 EV be available?

When it was first unveiled, a lot of people had an opinion – and that’s an understatement.
Now, that bold original vision has made the leap from concept to production, with the Type 01 EV set to hit the road in 2027.
This Type 01 EV will be available to order at the start of 2027 and will deliver later that year, arriving as a 2028 model year vehicle, priced at around $170,000.
