Footage of Japan's new train zooming down the track at 310mph leaves spectators speechless

Footage caught the moment Japan’s new magnetic levitation (maglev) train whizzed past at more than 300mph.  

The next-generation trains don’t need wheels; instead, they use powerful magnets to ‘float’ just above the track. 

This means they can hit incredible speeds of up to 370mph. 

Reporters in Japan were invited to a test track to see the super-fast trains in action, and could barely believe what they were seeing. You can check it out in the clip above, but be warned: blink and you might miss it.
