Jay Leno recently got to drive the modified 750hp military Humvee that belongs to Jeff Dunham, and the power under the hood gave the comedian a big surprise.

Leno loves his automobiles, as we have seen countless times with his amazing collection, showcased on YouTube via Jay Leno’s Garage.

He also has friends and other celebrities bring cars in to show off for the channel, and comedian Jeff Dunham brought his monster Humvee in for Leno to look at.

It’s certainly a brute of a car, and Leno had quite a lot of fun behind the wheel of this outrageous car.

The 750hp Humvee was something completely different

“And now for something completely different,” said Leno when he opened the video.

The Humvee is certainly very different from any car the former late-night host and automotive fan has looked at before.

It was built by Patriot Liner and listed as a Humvee when Dunham saw it for sale.

Dunham explained that while it was listed as a Humvee, it was actually the civilian version, the Hummer.

It had, however, been modified to include Humvee parts.

Under the hood is a 6.6-liter Duramax turbocharged diesel V8 engine, making a staggering 750hp.

What makes this particularly crazy is that originally, the engine had just 350hp, so it has had a 400hp increase.

It isn’t light either, with this wild ‘Rat Rod’ now weighing a staggering 9,000lbs.

Jay Leno was surprised when he was behind the wheel of the Rat Rod

One thing Leno was instantly surprised by was how smooth the engine was.

He expected a loud, throbbing diesel sound, but it was quiet and smooth, which took Leno aback.

He was also surprised by how little room there was inside, as it still had the standard Humvee configuration.

Even the ride was a surprise to Leno, as it was incredibly comfortable.

It was quiet as well, something else he hadn’t expected.

After he got behind the wheel, the smoothness of the steering was another surprise, given the weight of the Humvee.

The more civilized nature of the car is what really stood out, though, as it was much more pleasant than it looked.

This vehicle really did make a lasting impression on Jay Leno, and he couldn’t help but be impressed by it.

Hilariously, this is one of the more subtle vehicles that Dunham has the pleasure of owning.

2002-2005: GM expands the lineup available on the mainstream market by releasing the smaller, more accessible Hummer H2 and H3 models.
