This Jeep prototype is unlike anything the carmaker’s ever done before.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Easter Jeep Safari, the automaker created a concept car with a 707 horsepower Hellcat V8 engine.

Not only is it super powerful, but it combines the roar of a classic American muscle car with the rugged off-road power of a Jeep, so it’s basically the perfect car.

Unfortunately, Jeep says the Trailcat isn’t going into production because it’s just too powerful.

The Jeep prototype is unlike anything we’ve ever seen

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Easter Jeep Safari, Jeep decided to release a concept car called the Trailcat.

It’s just like a classic Jeep off-roader but with a very exciting difference: it comes with a a 707 horsepower Hellcat V8 engine and a few other epic features.

Not only does it have the roar and power of a classic American muscle car, it comes with an extended wheelbase, a short windshield, and enormous tires.

The photos and description of this concept car is the worst kind of tease, because who wouldn’t want an American muscle car mixed with all the best aspects of a Jeep off-roader?

Why won’t it ever be real?

If you like the sound of the combination of racecar and off-roader then that’s too bad, because the Trailcat is unlikely to ever see the production floor.

Turns out Jeep thinks it’s too dangerous with its massively overpowered engine, low windshield, and very tiny doors.

With the massive Hellcat V8 engine, tipping the Trailcat could end up being lethal, but that’s not stopped some car enthusiast from copying the design and making fake versions of their own.

Instead of Trailcat, they can call those the Copycat.

The Trailcat is named after its Hellcat engine.
