Jeff Bezos' $500M megayacht was one of the furthest away from the Monaco action due to its immense size

Jeff Bezos and his soon-to-be wife, Lauren Sanchez, attended the F1 Monaco Grand Prix, but they had to leave their massive $500M superyacht Koru behind.

Even though he’s one of the richest men in the world, Bezos had to approach the port in Monaco on a speedboat, just like a regular millionaire.

Ah, the effrontery.

But jokes aside, there’s a very good reason why that happened.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez probably love Koru, an immense superyacht that’s larger and more luxurious than most people’s homes.

But there’s the issue right there, because Koru is simply too large.

It’s 417 feet long, equivalent to 127 meters, with a beam of 56 feet (17.2 meters).

Translating from nautical English to normal English, it means Koru is longer than a soccer pitch and a basketball court put together, and wider than eight Humvees parked side by side.

This is becoming a recurring problem for the power couple.

Koru is currently in Spain, on her way back to who knows where after being denied a mooring in Monaco.

Yep, Jeff Bezos’s $500M superyacht Koru wasn’t allowed to anchor anywhere near Monaco and, as a result, they had to use speedboats to get to the F1 Monaco Grand Prix.

The same thing happened – or rather it is going to happen – in Venice, because port authorities there have already told him he’s not going to be able to get too close because his yacht is simply too big to fit.

Not only that, apparently even his second yacht, Abeona, is also too large to fit.

So Bezos and his guests will have to reach Venice either using speedboats or smaller yachts.

Or maybe gondolas or canoes, but definitely not Koru or Abeona.

The very definition of first-world problems, right?
