This 2004 Porsche Carrera GT, currently owned by American stand-up comedian and actor Jerry Seinfeld, is available from Bring a Trailer and it could be yours, provided you’re willing and able to fork out a huge sum of cash.

Part of the reason why so many people love the Carrera GT is because it’s powered by a wonderful 5.7-litre V10, unusual for Porsche, sending 605 hp and 435 lb-ft to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual – making a fantastic noise in the process.

It’s arguably one of the most iconic and sought after cars Porsche has ever made, rarer than rare, and especially hard to find in the pre-owned market.

Because it’s so rare, prices have been going up steadily over the past 10 years.

This V10 beauty was first unveiled as a concept at the 2000 Paris Motor Show and entered production back in 2003.

Only 1,270 examples were built and this particular model (chassis no. WP0CA29854L001079) has only done 3,700 miles.

It comes in wearing a no-nonsense black paint with matching dark gray leather interior, and fitted with silver wheels and yellow calipers, a limited-slip diff and carbon brakes.

It was purchased new by Seinfeld himself and it comes with all the bells and whistles, including all factory books and service records, along with a New York title in Seinfeld’s name, a clean Carfax and a clean Washington State.

That’s the good news, the bad news is it has no reserve price, and with 10 days to ago, the current bid is already at $1,600,000.
