John Wayne was not just known for his legendary roles in Western films, he was also a proud owner of classic cars that were all about American pride.

His love for American cars wasn’t exactly hidden – everyone knew he loved those classic and powerful vehicles.

That’s why he spent a significant part of his $50 million fortune on building a garage that could make any classic car enthusiast’s eyes widen.

So, let’s have a look, shall we?

John Wayne and his classic cars collection

One of John Wayne’s most cherished classic cars was a Pontiac Station Wagon, and that’s the reason he owned quite a handful of these beauties.

These included a 1972 model, a 1975 model, and 1976 Pontiac Grand Safari Station Wagons.

All of these were known for their raw power and large size and suited well with Wayne’s tough personality.

But his garage was quite a bit larger than that.

Wayne also owned a 1966 International Harvester Travel All, one of the first competitors for the Chevrolet Suburban.

Another gem in his collection was the 1959 Cadillac Coupe Deville Hardtop, a car that is still known for having tall and distinctive tailfins, as well as bullet taillights.

His car collection is still incredible today

A muscle car collection is incomplete without a Chevy, and the 1953 Chevrolet Corvette perfectly fits that bill.

This classic sports car reflects Wayne’s appreciation for speed.

He is also known to have owned a custom-built 1949 Buick Roadmaster, further cementing his love for automobiles.

John Wayne might have gone, but his classic car collection is still popular among the avid collectors.

His vehicles were as iconic as the roles he played on-screen – truly one of a kind.
